Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic. It has long been a destination for tourists from all over the world. This city has a rich history as one of the first colonies in the new world and one of the principal ports for Christopher Columbus. Santo Domingo also has a high rate of prostitution and sex slavery because of the tourism industry. Some of the most historic areas are now red light districts in the city. The Mercy Workshop team has spent time in this area in order to reach out to the women of this area as well as the churches surrounding it.  Please pray for Santo Domingo and the women and children who are trapped there.
